Latex mattress

Latex mattress

The latex is a suspension of the rubber particles in water. Harvesting is obtiened from the Hevea Brasilensis tree by making V-shaped incisions in the bark, a process called 'bleeding'. Behind the bark exist some vessel where the latex flows. When a minimum cut is made, the latex flows out.

There are two manufacturing systems for the latex mattresses:
Dunlop System or Standard, invented in 1929 by physicist EA Murphy researcher of Dunlopillo. The process consists in mixing the latex with air and then increase its temperature between 100 ° and 115 °, which is vulcanized, obtaining latex foam. In the mixture used for manufacturing can be used a high percentage of natural rubber latex (latex Dunlop) or otherwise only use synthetic latex (latex Standard).

Talalay system developed by Joseph Anton Talalay in 1956. This process is an evolution of the first system, starting from the same raw material, latex. It is a more elaborate process in which the latex is handled before vulcanization to enhance the magnificent natural qualities of latex. With this system  we've got a high quality latex for a better rest: more elastic, more breathable, more porous, more adaptable, softer, more durable, more natural, more healthy.
