Aerinite

Aerinite
ETYMOLOGYIt comes from the Italian venture, which means "random". It is an allusion to the chance discovery of a synthetic crystal aventurine.

CRYSTAL SYSTEM: Monoclinic.

PRINCIPLE OF FORMATION: Secondary.

MINERAL CLASS: Silicates.

CHEMICAL FORMULA, MINERAL ELEMENTS: (Ca5.1Na0.5) (Fe2 + Mg) (Al, Mg) 6 [HSi12O36 (OH) 12] [(CO3) 1.2 (H2O) 12].

HARDNESS: 3 on the Mohs scale.

FIELDSCadiz, Malaga, Lleida, Huesca, Alicante and Castellon (Spain); and in Aquitaine (France).

MINERALOGY: Its formation is due to altered basalts and andesites. It is associated with prehnite, ellagita and mesolite.

MYTHOLOGYSince it was identified by the naturalist Von Lasaulx in 1876, a certain mystery has surrounded the Aerinite, there are many causes, the most important, we must mention the great chemical variability hardly two samples of Aerinite have the same chemical composition and extremely fibrous character that makes it very difficult to imaging with atomic resolution electron microscopy technique. Finally, there is evidence to show that this pigment incorporated into the structure a small amount of carbonate groups. Being a silicate, this presence is rare, which has been considered as an impurity carbonate groups.

PROPERTIES: Properties has the ability to enhance the mind and increase personal magnetism.

CHAKRAS: Throat, eyebrows.

ZODIAC SIGN: Leo.

USES:  Aerinite was used both al fresco wall paintings, applied to the still fresh mortar, for painting altars, images and other objects of wood, mixed with a binder such as egg yolk.
