MINERALOGY: The origin of the Quartz is varied, the magma crystallizes directly from the pegmatitic-neumatolitic to low temperature hydrothermal; equally present in plutonic rocks (granite, granodiorite, tonalite) and the hipoabisales (porphyry, pegmatites). It is composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2), present in many types of rocks, you gets its color from inclusions of various forms of iron oxide. There are four different iron oxides, but chemically related that can be found in quartz. They include lepidocrocite (FeO (OH)), goethite (also FeO (OH), but a different crystalline structure), limonite (FeO (OH) nH2O) and hematite (Fe2O3).
